Cyclone Yaas likely to hit eastern coast on Wednesday May 26

Even as India is still reeling under the impact of Tauktae cyclone which hit Western Coast, another cyclone ‘Yaas’ from Bay of Bengal is now about hit Eastern Coast by Wednesday May 26, 2021 around noon.

Yaas has now picked up speed and is expected to make landfall between Pardeep and Sagar island with a wind speed of 165 to185 Kmph. State Govts of Odisha and West Bengal have already been put on high alert with Indian Coast Guard deploying forces and asking people to refrain from venturing into sea. Paradeep port has suspended its operations from 2 pm on 25th May 2021. 

After crossing Paradeep, it will move along Jagatsingpur, Kendrapara, Bhadrak and Balasore districts in Odisha and east Midnapur district of West Bengal.
