Fire at Chemical Factory in Pune, Monday 7th June 2021

Pirangut, 7th June 2021: A major fire has erupted at SVS Aqua Technologies, a chemical factory at Urawade in Pirangut MIDC, about 27 km from Pune, in Mulshi taluka. Fire Brigade and Pune rural police officials are at the spot.

Fire Brigade officials said that eight bodies have been brought out of the factory, while 17 are still missing out of total 37 workers. At present, the company is engaged in making sanitisers. The fire broke out around 2 pm. After getting information, eight fire tenders were rushed to the spot. Fire has been extinguished and cooling work is going on. The cause of fire is not yet known.

Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) Chief Fire Officer Devendra Potphode and Paud Police station’s Police Inspector Ashok Dhumal are supervising the rescue work.
