Rupture in submarine gas pipeline caused the flammable gases escape to sea surface in the the Bay of Campeche and caught fire, said by Mexico’s state-owned oil company, the Petroleos Mexicanos or Pemex
leak was reported at 5:15 am on Friday in a submarine pipeline in the Bay of Campeche. The "fire in the sea" was put out at 10:45 a.m. on Friday, 2nd July.
The gas leak about 500 feet from a drilling platform, Pemex tweeted. No injuries were reported and Pemex said it took about 5 hours to bring the incident under control.
